The Macadamias used in Artisana Organic Raw Macadamia/Cashew Butter are from the tropical and misty Hawaiian and Australian coastlines. They are 100% organic and 100% raw.

The cashew looks like a pear but when you open it, it is red like a passion fruit. Behind the fruit is the sweet nut. The fruit actually has a natural poison inside. (The real cashew fruit is featured on the hand painted labels of Artisana Organic Raw Cashew Butter.) The nut is extracted from the fruit with a cutting and peeling machine and the nut is then dried in the sun. It is a tasty nut that is naturally alive.
